I'm sure that you've found out with time, in a marriage, that there are things that you bring to the marriage and things that your spouse has brought to the marriage. I was wondering what things, that are totally "Belanger", have you brought to your marriage and vice versa.
F'rinstance.
Erin had never seen "White Christmas".
I had never had a stromboli.
What about you and yours?
first of all, you never had stromboli?!
ReplyDeleteNot growing up.
ReplyDeleteOh, I thought you had some of Uncle Artie's famous meat bread/stromboli...and I'm still thinkin' about your question.
ReplyDeleteHow about the ubiquitous use of peppers and onions in cooking? Or nut cups on Thanksgiving day morning? Or Tapioca pudding?
ReplyDeleteThose are ALL things Dustin did not grow up with and he appreciates all except for the tapioca!!! That he can definitley live without....still thinking...
ReplyDeleteAndy - aren't you supposed to be at a conference? Not blogging?
ReplyDeletebusted he needs to go to 12 step B.A. meeting
ReplyDeleteAndy I have no idea what that word means smarty pants but if it means "to put in everything" YES he's adjusted. I have to tone it down when I cook for Grandma Kris because I think that I naturally just inherited that same love of peppers and onions.
ReplyDeleteTamales and Lumpia on Christmas...from Billy and Mom's totally non-authentic Mexican Enchilada's...which I'm making for supper tonight...because my Mexican husband loves them.
ReplyDeleteI saw this post about an hour ago and did not think I could answer since I am really a Prescott down deep. But what about waiting in the hallway on Christmas morning. And the Thanksgiving day walk (in order to have all the wonderful smells hit you at once upon returning).
ReplyDeleteYep, nut cups, Thanksgiving walks, Christmas day line-ups and:
ReplyDelete- sarcastic slow clapping with a "Let's hear it for (blank)"
- "Does your face hurt?"
- "Wanna know a secret?"
- Toasts at the dinner table. "To the bishop and his lovely wife."
From the Bybees:
- Bugsy Malone
- "Who's cuter than you?" "No one!"
- The King and I (Vegas Thai restaurant)
- Cold duck
hey I like that Thai place also the Workmans introduced it to me.

ReplyDeleteOh Man Matt that one rocks!
ReplyDeleteAh, yeah! These are all great!
ReplyDeleteMarky, if you go to King and I, have some Kang Ka Ri for me.
Dustin never got a box of chocolate from cupid! What's up with that!
ReplyDeleteMaybe cupid didn't start lovin' him til after you were married?!?
ReplyDeleteI'm totally gonna make Billy chase lil' Billy with the Turkey...I told him about Dad and he was bustin' up
ReplyDeleteAre you kids telling me that your spouse's families never chased them with a raw turkey around the house? How boring.
