You put something down and two minutes later...

I'm so excited to see everyone's contributions! Joey said I had to make my own place here if I wanted to share anything(ie., he's not going to enable my tech phobia any longer). We've had a lot of fun with our homeschool this year. I'm probably learning more than the kids, but that generally goes without saying. We're starting the year off with Medieval times (not the dinner show) and we just had a kingly feast complete with beef stew in "trenchers", curds and whey, mead (virgin), and pocket pies for dessert. The kids did some crafts and we ended the afternoon with a feudal card game called "The Great Dalmuti" (we're Joey's family, we can't get together with anyone without a game) while the little kids played Bocce Ball in the yard. Oooops! I forgot to take pics. I'm so busy organizing these things I forget about recording them for posterity. Since Ethan is in Scouts (and loving it, just earned his Wolf!) I decided to start a Princess club for Rhiannon. We read a fairy tale and do crafts and have a "Princess lesson" once a month. The girls are sooo cute. The little ones all want to dress up and when we discuss that month's story they all have a lot to say. Luckily Joey was home from work that day so he corralled the boys for me and took the pictures. We did Snow White last month so they made little pocket "mirrors" and we made caramel apples for a treat. Sea World held a Homeschool day so we headed down to San Antonio (Dad took the day off) and enjoyed the program they do for school groups. The park is mostly closed; no rides, no tourists either. The kids got to see the dolphins and feed them, all the other animal attractions and two scaled down shows. Joey was a little disappointed in the shows at first, but then he realized that for 8 bucks this was a pretty good deal. Just that week we had watched a lady in San Antonio make Puffy Tacos on Bobby Flay's Throwdown so we took the opportunity to go and had a great meal! The kids were so excited when the owner (the lady from the show) came and talked to us. We finished the day with a walk around the Temple while dad was on a conference call and headed home. We love when dad can spend the day with us on a field trip! I better get this boring blog published. I love you all!

Its good to see what everyone else is up to. I feel bad that I havent kept in touch better, but this will be a good opportunity to do so.
